Back in junior high school, probably 8th grade, an aptitude test was a requirement for all students. I, being that age, wanted to be a park ranger, but according to the test I was better suited for art. Art manifested itself in the form of music, drafting and design. I studied architecture in my early school days then changed my major to music. I finally settled in as a hands-on building contractor. I satisfied my artistic side with building design. Homes, additions, interior design and in the process developed an interest in fine wood working.
My appreciation of the natural beauty and vast variety of wood species keeps me interested in my wood art. I have chosen smaller functional pieces to create and build that feature creative designs while letting the natural beauty of the wood speak for itself.
