I began my adventure in glass after moving back to Oregon in 2014. After spending time with an old friend, and masterful glass pipe maker, flameworking began to occupy a greater portion of my daily thoughts. Soon I set up a small glass shop at my home in the Illinois Valley. I use a specialized oxygen/propane torch to create my work from rods and tubes of borosilicate glass. I don't use any molds, each piece is individually shaped with heat, gravity, and hand manipulation. When a piece is finished I place it in a digital kiln to anneal and or change the color of the glass, similar to a kiln glaze.
Currently I split my time between making jewelry, sculpture, and pipes. I happily struggle to keep expanding to new forms and techniques and am aided by a supportive family and beautiful environment. My goal is to keep innovating and providing unique work to my community for all budgets.
